ChronoVoice: Just Tell It Your Workout
"Four rounds of push-ups, squats, and burpees. Thirty on, fifteen off."
That's it. That's how you set up a workout in ChronoVoice.
No scrolling through exercise lists. No tapping plus and minus buttons to set intervals. No configuring rest periods for each round. You just say what you want to do and the app builds it.
The Problem We Solved
Every interval timer app works the same way: pick an exercise, set the work time, set the rest time, add another exercise, repeat. For a simple Tabata, that's fine. For a custom circuit? It takes longer to set up the timer than to do the workout.
We kept hearing the same complaint from gym friends: "I know exactly what I want to do. Why can't I just say it?"
So we built that.
How It Works
-
Say your workout. Tap the mic and describe what you want. "Five rounds, 40 seconds push-ups, 40 seconds mountain climbers, 20 seconds rest." Natural language — talk like you'd explain it to a friend.
-
Preview it. ChronoVoice uses AI to parse your description into structured intervals. You'll see each exercise, the timing, the rounds. Edit anything that looks off.
-
Go. Hit start and your coach takes over. Exercise announcements, countdown warnings, halfway cues, motivational pushes between sets. All voiced by one of five AI coach personas.
-
Done. Your workout logs to history. Next time you want the same session, it's one tap away.
The Coach Personas
This is the part people don't expect to care about — and then they really care about.
ChronoVoice has five coach voices, each with a distinct personality:
- The Ace — Confident, direct. Your default workout partner.
- Guardian — Calm, steady. Good for recovery days and longer sessions.
- Lass — Energetic, encouraging. Brings the hype.
- Samurai — Focused, intense. No wasted words.
- Siren — Smooth, motivating. Makes hard intervals feel approachable.
All voices use Apple's on-device TTS. No streaming, no buffering, no internet needed during your workout. The coaching cues play instantly, even if you're in airplane mode at the gym.
What's Free
ChronoVoice starts with a 14-day free trial — full access to everything. After that, the free tier gives you workout creation with The Ace as your coach.
Premium unlocks unlimited workout creation and all five coach personas. $2.99/month, $19.99/year, or $34.99 lifetime.
Why Voice Input Matters
Here's the thing about gym time: your hands are often occupied. Chalk, sweat, gripping equipment. Tapping through menus mid-workout is annoying.
Voice input means you can set up your next circuit while resting between sets. Or change your plan on the fly: "Actually, swap burpees for jumping jacks." The app adapts.
It also means messy input works. "Do like, um, 30 seconds of each thing, maybe 4 rounds?" ChronoVoice handles the ambiguity. You don't need precise syntax.
Try It
ChronoVoice is available on the App Store. Download it, say your first workout, and let the coach take it from there.
Your timer should be as flexible as you are.
