Our Rustic boards are built of the same quality hardwood, but come from sections of the tree that most move past. This gives our Rustic boards added touch of live edge, character and color that brings a tiny extra bit of joy to the kitchen. Like our standard hardwood boards, when a knot or crack needs filling we use 100% food safe epoxy to stabilize and mica powder to elevate the imperfection rather than try and hide it. Your board will be finished with 100% natural and food safe tong oil blend and are set aside to cure for 1 week before receiving a coat of our 100% natural and food safe "board balm". This process makes our board very durable and water ready. It is still a wood cutting board and so not a match for your dishwasher. But regular washing with light soap and water will provide lasting use. Additionally, with each purchase we provide a small container of board balm so you can refresh the color and life of your board.
